About Branch Academy

Branch Academy started in 2024 when founder Jamal Branch wanted to provide an experience for athletes that was fun but also aimed to inspire the creativity, execution, and growth inside our athletes with the game of basketball through challenging workouts, film study, practices, classes, and assessments so that they can think through how to problem solve situations on their own. While playing the game of basketball at every level, Coach Jamal has a passionate desire to reach back and give his experience, resources, support, and knowledge of the game to the youth. As Branch would go and support kids that he worked with, he saw and felt the frustration that a lot of parents, players, and supporters had with select basketball. Coach Branch wanted his program to be like no other program in the country. He wanted Branch Academy to focus on doing what's best for the kids. While winning is important, most programs focus solely on winning and doing whatever it takes to win games, and players' long-term development is never prioritized.  Since so many kids are dropping out of sports because it isn't fun to them anymore, our program prioritizes making the game fun for our kids while focusing on every athlete's long-term development to make them well-rounded and marketable for any opportunity that comes from the sport. To Branch Academy, KIDS MATTER, and with our experience, athletes will be prepared mentally, physically, emotionally, academically, and transitionally.
